The creative process of this new series was very flowy, one that I didn’t think too hard about it and felt very intuitive. Working on the ground gave me mobility to walk and dance around the painting as I was creating it. I was free and loose, full of emotion and movement. The result is unpretentious and celebrates spontaneity, improvisation, and a highly physical approach to making art.
The “California Dream” series is an invitation to live life to its fullest, to enjoy the sunshine, to be spontaneous, to listen to your intuition and value your authenticity. It honors the proximity to the ocean and all its calming, healing, and mind-opening qualities. It’s a reminder that life is amazing, and we are all meant to live out our dreams.
Enjoy!
I believe when I first set foot in the golden state at 20 years old, it was love at first sight.
But I gave up a lot to move here. If you are an immigrant living overseas, you can relate. If you are not, just imagine how much one has to leave behind to move away from their country, roots, family and friends. And yet so many people move from all over the world to live in California.
In my case, I am not sure if it had to do with the golden beaches and its laid-back vibe, the perfect weather all year round, or its free- spirited and happy people, but California called my name and I listened to it. California seems to have it all, the natural beauty, cutting-edge technology, vibrant food culture, art, movies and music, what’s not to love?
After 18 years of living in California, it felt right to create a body of work that honors and celebrates my dream place. I felt something magical was about to happen and let my artistic energy do the rest. Like the people who live in California, we can follow our dreams and make magic happen!
